What the heck......we have a Christmas wreath at the entrance (on the brick wall) of Sussex and it is NOT EVEN THANKSGIVING???????!!!!!!!!!!!!  We could NOT wait until Thanksgiving was over to put this up????????????? OR maybe we now celebrate Christmas before Thanksgiving (given that someone has already put up a million lights and decorations for the Christmas Holidays on their house and are burning them nightly). Trying not to be Bah Humbug here...put get real folks, thought we had rules rules rules.

We are slowly working on doing what we need to get the house ready for sale. We just had the dreaded roof washed and received a charming letter from the Property Managers on how they take "violations" serious and pursue them..............really? Hmm........yes they pursue them with the people who actually give a darn
and take care of their property and then the people who don't and ignore everything get away with it.

So...........we are looking.........somewhere with absolutely no homes association this time. Over it. And for anyone that says that is a "negative" mine frame they can bite me............we have poured thousands and thousands into our home and always kept it up, while others have gotton away with living like they live in the projects and then cry that we are all picking on them. I am still looking at houses in Sussex that look like crap and will always get away with it.

All,
We are looking to be gone to Baton Rouge by end of 2010 ourselves.  While we are fed up with certain things here, our true reasons are 4 and 2 years old.  Grandkids.

Dee,
Late response sorry.  As you probably saw, the yard sale was finally advertised for last weekend. Good thing I didn't wait.
Suggestion for your roof.  I used a product called SPRAY AND FORGET  it is precisely that.  You spray it on your roof siding vinyl fencing, and over time it will get rid of the black streaks.  Not an instant clean, (then neither are some of the "professional " jobs I have seen) and depending on how heavy the stains, is how long it takes.
It is enviromentally safe to animals and vegitation.  It can be applied with a garden sprayer no special stuff required.  A one gallon bottle of concentrate lasted me two years and I did a heavy application.  Three drawbacks. 1.  It is only available at the TUDOR Ace hardware on providence Rd just past Military hwy.   2.  You will need someone able to climb up to your roof to spray it on.  3.  That one gallon is rather exspensive.  Believe mine cost me around $55.
BENIFITS.  Once I got my letter about stains and replied that I was using this product they left me alone.  Or it could be that I challenged them to prove that the six homes I could see from my porch that were worse than mine got slammed to.

   Good Luck
Ken

Another escapee, congrats.  We have been using the weekends we have available to home shop also.  We were one of the first ten to live in Courthouse Estates and we will be GONE!!!!  My experiences dealing with the home owner's association is one of the reason we are moving.  Nothing but bad experiences from the board.

Good for you. I was not wondering about any of the other things you mentioned, just noted you were gone. Good Luck and the best of wishes for you and your family.

Yes,
Indeed I did...
Our move was for positive reasons, "we didn't lose the house" or "couldn't afford the mortgage" , if that is what you were wondering. Opportunity opened up and we decided to seize it.
I know, another original homeowner gone, but trust me... It had nothing to do with anything ever discussed on these boards or financial ability.

The new owners are nice people and will be a great addition to the neighborhood. They appear to be proactive too.

Are they having one and are they going to advertise???? Now that we have changed Management Companies for the umpteenth time does anyone know?  I am going to need to have one to raise the funds to pay to have my "ROOF" cleaned of the black streaks.  It is either that or forget eating for the month or paying to keep the lights on. Funny how some people get away with their yards becoming fields of weeds and other things too long to mention, nor worth getting my blood pressure up over.....it is the most stupid thing I have ever seen to clean your roof. I hope it does not destroy my roof and I have to put a new one on (because of cleaning it).......because your going to see it covered with tarp until I move out of here if that happens and I will shred every letter I get from the homes association until then and call them on a daily basis with a list of homes that NEVER have to comply with anything.

Ted and Dee,
Did not comment, because I was not surprized at all.  Saw this coming four months into CMA's contract.  We were to BIG for them.
My prediction,   4 to 6 months into the UPA contract, some board members will be looking for another NEW management company.

Baton Rouge LA. is looking better and better.
